Revealing the reason behind the rejection when south Indian ace director Shankar first approached him to act in his super hit sci-fi film “Robo”, universal actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan said he and his counterpart Superstar Rajinikanth, who acted in the blockbuster, had an agreement between them.
Though they acted in several films together, it has been long time since the star duo acted together last. The ‘Dasavatharam’ actor revealed that even after the director Shankar had the photoshoot with him, he rejected to act in Robo and its sequel ‘2.0’ because he and Rajinikanth had set an agreement between them that whenever the duo act together in any film, one of them should produce the project.
“Director Shankar approached me to act in Robo first, and the second installment ‘2.0’ against Rajini. But I declined to work in both the films. Because they are being produced by none of us and someone else is bankrolling the multi-starrer”. That is why I also refused to play the baddie in ‘2.0’ against Rajinikanth”, said the multi talented actor.
Kamal also said that he was always ready to work with Rajini whenever a good plot is available for them. Currently, Robo’s sequel ‘2.0’ is being made in the direction of Shankar featuring Rajinikanth as protagonist and Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar essaying the role of antagonist.
